This year I have decided to throw out my usual list of New Years resolutions (it's not like they ever last past January anyway) and try something new! Recently I stumbled upon Jessica Kirkland's delightful blog,
Pen N' Paperflowers, and discovered a great new way to celebrate the New Year! It's called a
Promise ME list. In Kirkland's words, "This is NOT a lose weight, break a habit type of list." The
Promise Me list is meant to inspire you, a list that prompts you to do all those things that you keep telling yourself you are going to do but never actually get around to doing.
"The "promise ME" list is a reminder of who YOU are...
things YOU want to do...
things YOU want to be...
a list of things YOU want to discover, try, taste, feel, experience." Jessica Kirkland
For example, some of the items on my list are going on a picnic, throw a dinner party, and try a Viking Cooking School class. The goal is to have your list finished by January 31st so you can begin your journey on February 1st. You then have 12 months to try and accomplish everything on your list! I can't tell you how excited I am to be participating in this journey!
I just about have my list ready for this year and I can't wait to get started! At the suggestion of Jessica and other Promise Me 2013 participants I ordered a
Smash Book Kit to document my journey. These books are AMAZING for scrapbook novices like myself. Watch the video below for a quick introduction to the product!
I ordered the
Retro Blue Folio Gift Pack simply because it comes with the cute polka dot tape but any kit will do (click
here to read a great in-depth review of the Smash Book if you are interested in beginning scrapbooking)! Each kit comes with a variety of items to get you started on your book.
Along with my Smash Book, I will be documenting my journey on here as well. I'm looking forward to sharing all of my experiences with everyone! To learn more about Promise Me 2013 and/or participate contact Jessica Kirkland
